Submit a Record

Records submitted here will become part of the Missouri Herpetological Atlas Project (MOHAP) and the herpetological photographic collection at the University of Missouri. All data shared with the project is protected and secured. It is released to others only with legitimate research needs. This has happened only rarely in the last 20 years.

Please remember: Never share locality information on Facebook or other public sites in order to protect the animals and their habitat!

  • Description of the locality where the animal was observed. Please be as specific as possible.
  • To get latitude and longitude from Google Maps:

    * Find the location you want by browsing around
    * Right-click on the location and choose "What's Here?"
    * Click the latitude / longitude link on the window that pops up (ignore the other information)
    * Copy-and-paste the latitude / longitude from the location bar in the upper-left corner of the map screen
  • List all people present during this observation (last and first name), including yourself if applicable. It's customary to list the person who actually made the observation first in the list.
